Custom Built

Every Mailserver we build is custom built to your specifications using all open source software meaning there are no large corporations who can access your data or compromise your privacy.

Your package is completely free from any ads or any content monitoring. All you get is the mailserver software.

Our standard package provides a dedicated Cloud server (VPS) from our hardware providers (Akamai, the best in the business) in one of their many datacenters around the world. We can ensure that we position it for minimum latency.

We set up all of the necessary security protocols and backup systems to ensure that your data is as private and secure as possible.

We store all your attachments highly efficiently saving on storage space.

Data Security

We host our servers on high availablility systems backed up by RAID hardware, to cope with catastrophic failure.

The complete system is backed up daily and weekly (separately) on site.

In addition there is a daily secure user data backup offsite with full restore capability.

Additional database dumps are also made on a daily basis for added peace of mind.

We Manage Systems - You Manage Accounts

We monitor and manage the mail system on an ongoing basis, updating the software in a timely way when updates become available and ensuring that the system is functional. Each server is continually monitored for availability.

Standard packages come with a 99.9% uptime guarantee.

You manage your accounts through our Smart Mail Admin panel. Your own email administrator can assign storage space for each account (up to the global limit) and can activate or deactivate accounts as required. They can also grant access to others in your organisation as required

The number of mail accounts and aliases that you can have is limited only by the ability of the system to handle email activity and by our generous transfer limits

Postfix: Mail Transfer Agent (MTA)
Dovecot: POP3, IMAP and Managesieve server
Nginx: Web server
MariaDB: SQL server used to store application data. Could be used to store mail accounts too.
Amavisd-new: Interface between Postfix and SpamAssassin, ClamAV.
SpamAssassin: Content-based spam scanner.
ClamAV: Virus scanner
Roundcube: Webmail (PHP).
SOGo Groupware: A groupware which provides calendar (CalDAV), contact (CardDAV), tasks and ActiveSync services.
Fail2ban: Scans log files and bans IPs that show the malicious signs.
iRedAPD: A postfix policy server
Smart Mail Admin: Smartmail's own account management software
